Open the door and along the both sides and the top you'll see "T20" torx head screws, there are also two in the middle of the inside door panel near the bottom. It can also be done without removing the panels by identifying the small round "pin" in the the door latch channel ( where the latch goes into the door when closed ) and with the aid of a small screwdriver, tooth-pick, paper clip or hair-pin etc.Īdd some vasiline or grease to the top of the pin working it in via pushing the pin up & down.I recommend removing the panels though. It is quite involved though so I recommend calling in an authorized Asko tech. ![]() This procedure I'm going to suggest can be done easiest and more accurately by removing the door panel & control panel for better access as well as to visually inspect other component. **Turn the breaker off at your home service panel before attempting any service suggested here on 'fixya".safety first" If the dishwasher doesn't stop when you open the door as you stated, here's a possible remedy you can try on your own. This has been a random occurance with Asko dishwasher's since they went to this design around 1994 or so. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.īased on your description and trusting it is indeed an Asko 1776 I'd suspect you have a door switch "accuator" sticking ( control pin as identified by Asko. Install the inner door panel retaining screws and tighten all screws with the Torx driver. Lower the door and tighten the door latch securing bolts. Hold the door latch with your finger tips when you align the latch. Carefully raise the dishwasher door to align the door latch with the strike plate. ![]() You only need to loosen the bolts, not remove them. Lift the inner door panel enough that you can loosen the two securing bolts on the door latch with a wrench. The retaining screws are usually around the side edge and top edge of the dishwasher door. Adjust Door Latch Open the dishwasher door and remove the Torx screws securing the inner door panel to the outer door panel with a Torx driver. Secure the brackets to the counter if your dishwasher uses retaining brackets. Retighten the Torx screw and push the dishwasher back under the counter. Adjust the strike plate so the plate will engage the door latch. Loosen the Torx screw that secures the strike plate to the washer tub with a Torx driver. You may need to open your dishwasher door and remove the two screws that secure the dishwasher mounting bracket to the bottom of the counter with a Phillips-head screwdriver to pull the dishwasher away from the counter. Pull the dishwasher out of the counter enough that you can access the strike plate securing Torx screw. If the strike plate is out of alignment, it will hit the inside of the door. ![]() The strike plate is usually on the front top center of the dishwasher. Open and close the door and watch where the strike plate makes contact with the door. ![]() Turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off inside your home electrical panel. It is a good idea not to remove the inner door panel completely, just enough that you can access the door latch assembly. First, remove the securing fasteners for the inner door panel. Adjusting the latch assembly is a straight forward process on most models of dishwashers. The door latch can come out of alignment from use.
